Somatic Movement for Nervous System Regulation, Self-Care, and Deep Neuro-Myo-Fascial Connection

Live classes are on pause for now. As soon as I fix my tech issues, I'll be making recordings of classes for donation, and working my way back to live online and in-person classes. I'll update here.

If you're in the Austin area, I'm looking for a couple of people interested in a six-week practice toward improving some area of their life: sleep, anxiety, chronic pain, low mood, sobriety, inability to focus--or simply getting more attuned to their body, in exchange for a testimonial.
Information will be collected toward a study and database for ongoing education of practitioners. If you're interested, email and we'll do a consult meet or call.

Somatic Moves and Dreams

This class is all about deep myo-fascial release through slow intentional movement-- paired with somatic inquiry, awareness, and reflection. The purpose of the class is relaxation and bringing the body space and time in a new way.
Each class will focus on a specific area of the body: ribcage, pelvis, feet, shoulders, jaw, neck, etc. Sometimes we will work more than one area if it serves the myo-fascial chain.

As I lead the moves, I also cue to notice your thoughts, images and sensations. Throughout the session, we take a few minutes of stillness. This dreamtime can bring thoughts that range from daily to-do lists, to deeper and older material, or messages from parts of you that come forward from the quiet and slower pace.
That material is part of the medicine of this practice. After the movement and dreamtime journey, you're prompted to journal to a few questions designed specifically for this work.
You'll experience deep relaxation and gain a sense of connection and curiosity. You may experience emotional releases during or after, making the journal an integral element in the work.

The ideal location for this class is with a yoga mat on the floor. We need the support of the floor and gravity to really support the spine. Some of the exercises will be done seated. Some of the movements include standing.

You always have the option to just listen to the cues, imagine the movements, and to connect with your body. If you're working toward mobility and capacity, email me.
